SUMMARY:Growing Perennial Biomass Crops in Wales: Benefits and Impacts
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 11th October\, 09:00 – 12:00 (followed by complimentary lunch) \nNational Botanic Garden of Wales\, Llanarthne\, Carmarthenshire\, SA32 8HG \nMiscanthus and willow can diversify farm incomes and improve carbon storage\, flood mitigation\, and biodiversity in certain settings. Recommendations to increase biomass planting to meet UK carbon targets have implications for farmers. This workshop will provide information about the benefits and impacts of these crops to farmers and stakeholders. The workshop will present and seek feedback on: \n\nThe latest scientific evidence about the benefits and impacts of these crops\nLocal examples showing where best to grow these crops to optimise benefits and minimise impacts\nEstimates of potential crop yields and income\nLandscape visualisations of these crops in the local area\n\nShare your views and feed into policy development for perennial biomass crops. The workshop is free\, and there is an offer of a £50 gift voucher to local farmers attending. \nREGISTRATION IS ESSENTIAL: Click here to Register.

SUMMARY:5th Biomass PowerON
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted and excited to announce 5th European Biomass PowerON 2023 conference with newly researched agenda\, trending industry news\, excellent speakers & technical insights. The conference will take place on 11-12 October 2023 in Stockholm. \nIn the face of an energy crisis and rising interest in cleaner energy sources Europe is turning to possibilites that biomass and pellets offer. Change of the heat and power feedstock is crucial from the point view of European energy security\, as well as climate change mitigation. This year\, among other topics we are focusing on usage of biomass and pellets for heat and power generation\, role of bioenergy in decarbonisation as well as on perspective of forest industry on the higher demand for wood biomass and pellets. Also\, as many discussions are on within EU in terms of policies and regulations for green solutions and biomass’ place among them\, we will be discussing the influence of legislation on the bioenergy sector. \nThis event is set to bring industry stakeholders\, unique content\, workshops discussions and networking. Join us for latest market news\, excellent keynote speakers and technical insights.
