SUMMARY:SHAREscape 2025
DESCRIPTION:Join the first SHARE* event of the year on 3 and 4 February at the University of Leeds\, and choose between a site visit to the Drax power station at Selby or the Enfinium waste to power plant at Ferrybridge. \n*SHARE is the early career researcher (ECR) network for the Supergen Bioenergy Hub. Please share this opportunity with any ECRs who may be interested. \nRegister via EventbriteWhy join? \nThis two-day event will be hosted at the University of Leeds\, with the opportunity to take part in a site visit either to the Drax power station in Selby or to the Enfinium waste-to-energy plant in Ferrybridge. Both site visits will offer insights into the latest carbon capture innovations. \nDay 1 will feature a site visit to the Drax power station in Selby or the Enfinium Ferrybridge plant\, a research talk from Dr Daya Pandey from the University of Leeds\, followed by a networking dinner and drinks. \nDay 2 includes lab tours at the University of Leeds\, a 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) training session\, a presentation from Dr Andrew Ross from the University of Leeds\, and networking opportunities with researchers\, academics and industry professionals. \nThis event is a great opportunity for ECRs from across the UK to come together\, enhance their knowledge and skills\, and network with colleagues from across the renewable energy space.

SUMMARY:Feeding Willow to Lambs: Results from the Field Lab
DESCRIPTION:Join Innovative Farmers for the latest feeding willow to livestock network webinar. \nThis webinar will feature farmers\, Tom Fairfax & Dr Nigel Kendall to discuss results of this field lab evaluating the effect of feeding willow leaves to weaned lambs. \nThis field lab explored how cobalt-rich willow trees could prevent deficiencies in lambs\, cutting the need for supplements. Willow is known for high levels of cobalt\, zinc and salycilic acid\, providing valuable supplementary feed in addition to shelter\, shade\, water retention and carbon sequestration. \nYou’ll hear from both Tom (Mindrum Estate\, a triallist in the field lab)and Nigel (School of Veterinary Medicine and Science\, University of Nottingham) on the trial design\, the results and lessons learned around the practicalities of feeding willow to lambs. \nThere will be opportunities for participants to engage fully in the session and ask any questions to the panel.
