Hub Site Update – SRUC Ayrshire – February 2023

• It has been extremely wet. So wet, the ground is almost like quick mud. Nearly lost a welly! It will be several weeks before it has a chance to dry out enough to get a tractor on it, that’s if the rain stays off. The worst case scenario is spraying will have to be delayed, thus impacting planting dates. (See pictures)
• Dog walkers/horse riders. We might require polite notices/signs asking the public to keep off.
• Found lots of deer prints (and dog prints) in the fallow area. But the deer look like they were just passing through, no signs of grazing.
