The BioWILL project is looking at ways that farmers might be able to compartmentalise and valorise different parts of biomass crops and therefore get much more out of the crop. Watch videos from the project partners here.

A team of Farming Connect’s development officers were invited to IBERS for an event that was part of the ongoing activities organised by the Biomass Connect Project to enhance awareness of emerging biomass industries and potential benefits within the land-based sector.

We have produced two short films looking at birds in and around willow and Miscanthus crops in Devon and Somerset. The films feature ornithologist and wildlife detective Ed Drewitt (along with BC team member Kevin Lindegaard of Crops for Energy)...

Biomass Connect, participated in the prestigious Royal Welsh Winter Fair on November 27th and 28th, a flagship event for the Welsh land-based sector. As one of Europe's premier prime stock shows, the Winter Fair attracts audiences from across the region for two days of competitions, exhibitions, and displays.

Biomass Connect, in collaboration with Terravesta, successfully hosted a technical day on the establishment, growth, and diversification potential of Miscanthus. The event, held on October 26th, took place at Grovefield Farm, near Warwick, and was graciously hosted by the enterprising farmer Harry Clark. The event saw approximately 40 land managers and advisors in attendance, all eager to explore the multifaceted potential of Miscanthus.

In April 2023, Biomass Connect held a stakeholder consultation workshop with experts from the biomass industry to better understand the key challenges currently facing the industry and how these could best be addressed by the programme.
